Alcohols

Obviously you’re not going to go very far in your bartending career if you don’t know about the basic alcohols. Now, the good news is most people already know what they want and just ask for it so brand recognition is as important as knowing the “types” of alcohols, but you don’t have to be a distillation expert or a brewmasters…

Never once in my 12+ years have I EVER had a customer grill me about how alcohols are made, or differences in distillation, etc, etc. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen someday, but I’m just saying…it ain’t that common. These videos are most likely waaaaaay more information then you’ll probably ever need to know.

Continuing on, you’ll also see how aging changes the colors, flavors and value of alcohols. Plus more information about…Rums, spiced rum, whiskey, bourbon, irish whiskey, scotch, blended malt, single malt, brandy, peat fires, sherry maturation, cognac ratings: vs, vsop, xo and the tequila types, silver, reposado, anejo.

It’s here that you’ll start your alcohol pHd…
