Cuba Libre Drink Recipe

The Cuba Libre is another drink like the Cape Cod that is so simple in bartending that I almost didn’t include it. But again, because it is usually ordered by another name (rum and coke) I don’t want you to have someone order this and you not know it.

Most people are familiar with this drink already as it was the drink ordered in the famous scene from Cocktail with Tom Cruise. It was his first night behind the bar when the cocktail waitress orders a Cuba Libre, he doesn’t know it, and when she explains its just a rum and coke…“WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST ORDER A DAMN RUM AND COKE THEN!!” he screams as he’s freaking out.

• Bucket glass full of ice.
• 1 oz Rum.
• Fill with cola (coke or pepsi).
• Lime garnish.
